HEINRICH FUCHS  (1930-)

Heinrich Fuchs is most noted for his Op-Art designs. From 1965-1970, Fuchs designs created a totally new aesthetic in porcelain for the prestigious Hutschenreuther manufactory. He is also well known for Calabash and Archais series, which consisted of 15 different vases, each featuring a natural or  geometric repeating surface as well as bark and sea shell textural surfaces all glazed in matte or gloss clear on white ground.

These pieces were a distinct departure for  Hutschenreuther which was well known as one of the greatest ornate porcelain figurine makers for about 200 years.

Today Fuch pieces are considered  luxurious artifacts which look modern to this day.
