CONNY WALTHER (1931-)
Conny Walther was a noted Danish mid century ceramicist who early on worked for the famed Copenhagen factories Saxbo and Kahler. She became a leading figure amongst Danish makers working in her own studio in Birkerod, Denmark, alongside her artist husband Bent Stubbe Teglbjerg, from the mid 1960's on. Her signature style often included high-fired embossed, stamped or hand manipulated forms with glossy and dripping glazes. She often used iron rich glazes or ash glazes, sometimes with bold splashes of color or left bits partially unglazed. In her later years she focused exclusively on painting.
